AKO PO AY GURO. Napanood ko po itong dokumentaryo tungkol sa bumababang kalidad ng edukasyon ng Pilipinas.

Totoong bumababa ang lebel ng karunungan ng mga pinoy, ngunit hindi ko matatanggap na isisi lamang ito sa mga kaguruan. Sana tignan natin ang malaking larawan ng problema. Ano ba ang malalim na problema ng kaguruan at hindi sila makapagturo ng maayos? Ano ba ang ginagawa ng Gobyerno para tugunan ito? Sapat ba ang mga pagsasanay na ibinibigay ng DepEd para sa mga guro? May suporta ba ang mga magulang sa pag-aaral ng kanilang mga anak? May kamay ba ang batas upang kurbahin ang mga 'corrupt' na opisyal ng DepEd (Marami akong kilala)?

Napakasakit isipin na ganito na ang kalidad ng karunungan ng mga Pilipino. Ang batang si Mark na 'feature' sa dokyu na ito ay may 'Dyslexia'. Hindi sya bobo kundi maituturing na may sakit. Alam ba ito ng gobyerno? Paano sya natutulungan ng DepEd? May tamang programa ba para sa mga batang tulad nya?

Nagpakahirap akong kumuha ng Board Exam at pumasa sa pagka-guro hindi para sisihin sa problemang ito. Ako ay Guro...May dignidad, May kasanayan at Sapat na Karunungan. Ang kahinaan ng isang guro ay hindi kahinaan ng lahat.

korek bhong, hindi lang responsibilidad ng guro ang pagtuturo sa mga bata responsibilidad din yun ng mga magulang at ng gobyerno. ang mga tax na binabayad ng mga magulang pati na ng mga guro. san ba ito napupunta? di ba sa mga bulsa lamang ng mga corrupt na tao sa gobyerno.

I guess, all these are just the mere results of only one root cause... CORRUPTION.

As i was watching the video, I tried my best to be as objective as I can be. My grandparents, by the way, are also noble educators. But somehow, it is a sad fact that there really are many underqualified teachers, and that's probably the reason to this wrong impression. People tend to generalize, when not everyone of them can be classified as "underqualified". But I personally blame it all on the government, NOT on the teachers. If they only cared to improve the quality of education in the country, then everything shall be under control.

No underqualified teachers, no nasty textbooks, and most of all, no students to be called "TANGA".

I feel sorry for the students, but then I also feel sorry for those teachers who were branded as "underqualified"... it's not their fault. They just wanted to have a NOBLE job.

It is the system.

When a teacher is appointed in public elementary school, he/she is equipped with two things: a CHALK and a BALL OF MISERIES. It's about time the government should seriously adress this problem.

When I was appointed teacher in Public elementary School, I waited 6 long months to get my salaries (Bawas pa ng makuha ko). Classrooms are not conjusive to learning because of poor ventilation and lightings. There are not enough trainings. Paano ka nga naman gaganahan magturo? Kahit nandoon sa dibdib mo bokasyon para magturo, maapektuhan ka pa rin.

Tama na ang grandstanding ng mga Senador na tamad! Tama na ang matatamis na pangako ng mga Congressman at mga Mayors. THEY SHOULD ACT NOW! Lack of Political Will shall bring our country to chaos.
