My daughter, ISABELLA BEATRICE is celebrating her first birthday today July 16. Unfortunately, I'm far away home. I'll be missing her party and most of all the warmth of her kisses and hugs.
Still fresh from my mind, my daughter was born few minutes after midnight at UERM Hospital in Ramon Magsaysay (Sta Mesa). It was Sunday and supposed to be a usual monthly check-up for my wife. But her OB-Gynecologist, Dr. Idelfa Saputil Elevazo, told her that the baby was already 2cm ready for birth. My wife did'nt feel any pain or labouring days before so we did'nt expect that to be her last pre-natal check-up. I'm also caught by surprise because our finances still wasn't enough for that week. Thank God, My super mother in-law was there to help (As she always does). The doctor told me to check her in and get a room. I was quiet nervous as i did when my eldest was born. When somebody is brought to a hospital, you'll never know what will happen and you'll just start uttering prayers. At the same time, it was an excitement for both us who's been taking care and seeing through the pregnancy for nine long months. After many hours of waiting, the child was born via normal delivery and the rest was history.
We named her ISABELLA BEATRICE. Isabella is the Judeo-Aramaic name of Elizabeth, cousin of the Blessed Virgin Mary and mother of John the baptist. Beatrice means blessing like Jesus beatitudes in the mountain.
This blog is dedicated to my daughter. On her first birthday, The feast of Our lady of Mount Carmel, I'm placing her under the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary. May you grew up to be in the wisdom of God and in humility of Mary.
Daddy Loves You. Happy Birthday!
