My wife text and woke me up this morning and the content is really not the one you would long to have to start your day. It said: SORI HON, ME BAD NEWS, PATAY ANG ANAK NG KUYA MO. My brother and sister in-law has been expecting their sixth child to be born healthy as the rest of their children had been, until this very somber news greeted me up this morning. I've been praying for this child every night asking the Lord to blessed his birth and the family but Heaven must have had other plans for him. They name the child 'EMMANUEL' meaning 'God is with Us'.
Jesus is the promised messiah, CRISTUS-the annointed one, Emmanuel. He gave 'light' to the world in a time where there is hopelesness and desperation among God's people. People who longs for salvation from sin and oppression. And that was what Jesus exactly did. In dying and resurrection HE REDEEMED THE WHOLE WORLD. I'm trying to make sense why my 'pamangkin' had to be given the opposite on how he could have lived his name. Jesus our Emmanuel is the source of Life, but my nephew wasn't...He never see the light of the world...and he'll never be able to feel and experience the gift of life.
I'm not questioning the Divine will of God but praying...that in the midst of my brother's trying times, he may find strength and faith in Jesus. That 'EMMANUEL' may serve as our family's rebirth and enlightenment.
MAY THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY ACCOMPANY HIM IN HEAVEN AND MAY GOD GRANT HIM ETERNAL PEACE.
